Risk Analysis Group

The Risk Analysis Group provides an analytical framework for assessing risk based on a risk matrix, allowing us to present large amounts of complex data in an intelligent and comprehensible manner.

Analyzing risk is a combination of assessing the criticality and probability of a given situation or hypothetical, enabling leaders to take well informed decisions. Because the output of a pseudo qualitative risk assessment such as the risk matrix will never be greater be than the information provided, we rely heavily on interdisciplinary teams capable of intelligently assessing qualitative and quantitative data in their respective fields.

The framework of analysis is developed by members of the centre and based on existing models such as CARVER. Our model is primarily geared towards assessing country risk, but is also being developed to accurately reflect humanitarian and security risk.
