The SOAS Policy Forum is the self-organized student policy institute at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that engages with public policy on international affairs. We host an array of events through our four Policy Centres, conduct research into pertinent and critical issues, and provide a platform for the SOAS student body to meaningfully participate in public policy.
'The Policy Forum aspires to provide a reputable space for policy discussion at SOAS. Often it is pointed out that university focuses too much on the analysis and deconstruction of issues than the education in valuable solutions. Therefore, based on the belief that students are capable of recommending policy, we encourage students to research contemporary and historical issues, formulate creative responses to them, and defend them in a democratic assembly.'
Our four Policy Centres host events and conduct research in the relevant fields. These fields are:
- Global Security
- International Law and Human Rights
- International Economics
- Development and Sustainability
Advisory Board - Our Advisory board is made up of top SOAS academics.
